Recognition of exceptional healing abilities continues to flow to Darlene Holloway, founder of the Alternative Health Center of Cary.
In this one setting, she has brought together a range of healing therapies and is especially renowned for her expertise in colon hydrotherapy. In fact, in 2009 she was the first to receive recognition as Colon Therapist of the Year by the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy. Subsequently, she accepted an invitation to serve as an at-large member of that organization’s Board of Directors.
Beyond her expertise in colon hydrotherapy, her practice is in fact a detoxification center, offering: ion detoxification, lymphatic drainage, deep tissue massage, infant massage, biofeedback, pregnancy massage, Swedish therapeutic massage, ear candling, and more.
Even as she directed this busy, multi-faceted practice, she continued her naturopathic studies and earned her certification as a naturopathic doctor about four years ago.
Most recently she was invited to a gathering in Las Vegas where she was singled out and presented a Higher Achievement Award “in honor and recognition of distinguished performance” from the American Naturopathic Medical Association (see photo).
Years of Healing
There is a small army of clients over many years who would agree that such recognition is well-deserved. One of them is Alisa Turner, whose healing story is featured on YouTube and on the web at www.inannahouse.org. She is a talented singer and writer with an ardent national following—and she considers Darlene Holloway to be a gifted healer.
Since childhood, Ms. Turner has struggled with the painful, debilitating effects of Lyme disease—a tick-borne disease that benefits greatly from prompt treatment with antibiotics. Left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system—as was the case with Ms. Turner.
She shares, on the web, “The worst of my days involved losing the ability to walk, talk, swallow and more. I had a G-tube in my stomach so I could receive nutrients and I was completely dependent on my port for all other hydration and meds.”
Years ago, a local doctor referred Ms. Turner to Darlene Holloway for a series of colonics. “I was initially referred to Darlene because I had not had normal bowel movements since I was a little girl,” she notes. “I went through the whole process of growing up not really knowing that I didn’t have a normal elimination system.
“When I got Lyme disease as a youngster, it had the effect of taking every kind of problem in my body and greatly intensifying it. I would go two weeks without being able to move my bowels, and the simple truth is that Darlene brought me back to life, honestly. None of my other therapies and treatments would work without cleaning up the bowels and intestines and getting all the toxins out of my system.
“I spent years on the road traveling—I still do—and I’d often make flights back to Raleigh just to see Darlene and get a colonic, then I’d fly back to my work.
“My dedication to this is very strong. I’ve tried numerous other therapies but honestly, I haven’t found anyone else who has the skill, experience, and technique that I continue to experience with Darlene. I’m just a huge fan with a grateful heart for her. She has taught me so much about healing and about the effect of attitude on our health and happiness.
“Today my health is much better,” Ms. Turner reports. “Lyme disease has been a hell of a ride. At my worst, I couldn’t sit up or swallow. All my muscles had wasted and atrophied. Darlene gave me an amazing experience with colon hydrotherapy. My system was shut down before colonics, and now my system is regular and healthy. I can have regular bowel movements every day because all those muscles have become strengthened and they’re now moving as they’re supposed to—thanks to the work I’ve done with Darlene.
“At first, I was skeptical about colonics, as a lot of people are. But Darlene early on had a way of easing my fears and calming me and helping me understand what was happening and it was all a very relaxing experience. She is amazing at creating a peaceful, healing environment.”
