From a respected source—National Geographic—let me share an astounding and humbling fact. We humans manage to send 700,000 tons of pollutants into our shared air every single day. No wonder that so many of us have headaches and a variety of other ailments!
What does that fact have to do with cancer? A great deal. Experts tell us that better than 85 percent of all cancers are caused by environmental pollutants. Without a nutritionally rich diet that nourishes and assists in the removal of these substances from the body, over time we lose strength and vitality. Immune systems become suppressed, with dire consequences—sometimes including manifestations of cancer. Colon cancer alone kills 50,000 people each year—one person every 9.3 minutes. It is the second leading cause of death due to cancer for men and women combined. And yet it is one of the most preventable of all cancers.
At the Alternative Health Center of Cary, we work with cancer patients on many levels and in many ways, depending on their needs. Some clients choose alternative approaches to dealing with cancer, such as adopting an organic diet, juicing, and colon cleansing. Others choose traditional therapies in tandem with colon therapy. Chemotherapy is a chemical and has many side effects, because it introduces poison into the body. Colon hydrotherapy, when administered at the right time and in the right way during the cancer treatment process, can help cancer patients remove toxins that build up in the colon. Colon hydrotherapy is really a blessing for patients with cancer.
Perhaps even more important, colon hydrotherapy is a simple, inexpensive, and remarkably effective way to prevent cancer and a host of other disease conditions. It is a safe, effective method of cleansing the colon of waste material by repeated, gentle flushing with water.
The colon—the large intestine—is about six feet long and two inches in diameter. It completes the digestive process by absorbing minerals, nutrients, and excess water from the digestive residue of the food we have eaten and discharging toxins and waste materials from the body.
Everything we put in our mouth touches and affects the walls of the stomach, small intestine, and colon. When these substances or their by-products are toxic—something that is increasingly hard to avoid—they damage the intestinal wall and cells, intoxicate the nerves and glands, and can be absorbed through the walls into the blood and lymph and ultimately to tissue.
When the colon is congested with stagnant wastes, toxins can back up into the system and pollute the inner environment. These poisons can re-enter and circulate in the bloodstream making us feel ill, tired, or weak. Impacted materials impair the colon’s ability to assimilate minerals and vitamins. And a buildup of material on the colon wall can inhibit muscular action causing sluggish bowel movements and constipation.
During a colonic, toxic material is broken down and flushed away so it can no longer harm the body or inhibit assimilation and elimination. Through massage, the skilled colon therapist is able to work loose and eliminate toxic waste. When the colon is cleansed and healed, the wellness of the whole body is greatly enhanced.
At our Health Center, we provide a safe and healthy environment for our clients. Your personal dignity is maintained in a private room with only your licensed colon therapist present. Sterile tube packs and FDA registered equipment with built-in cleaning and disinfection systems are used. This equipment uses a multi-stage water filtration system. This filtered water, heated to the correct temperature, is free of the chemicals and inorganic substances commonly found in tap water and thus is capable of absorbing and flushing more toxins out of the colon.
During colon hydrotherapy, we hydrate the system; remove waste; stimulate muscle movement; rehabilitate the nerves, muscles, glands, circulatory, and immune systems that form the digestive system; and reposition the intestines.
